The Black Church

It was built in the 14th century - and its initial name was Saint Mary's Church. It is one of the most important monuments of Gothic architecture in Romania. After the 1689 fire wich badly damaged the building, and after its reconstruction wich took 8 decades, the building came to be known under the name of the Black Church. It has the largest organ in south-eastern Europe, with more than 4,000, and its tower houses the biggest bell in Romania (6,300 kg).
